Mark’s has been employed with the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the last 14 years. He works out of the Capitol Building in Harrisburg as a senior research analyst for the House Transportation Committee. The Committee handles all transportation related legislation including driving, motor vehicles, road construction, bridge construction, airport and mass transit funding, and much more. It is one of the most powerful committees in the House of Representatives. Mark joined the staff of Transportation Committee Chairman Rep. Joe Markosek in 2004. Prior to 2004, Mark worked for former local State Representative Jeffrey W. Coy for nearly 10 years.
Mark was born and raised in Chambersburg, graduated from Chambersburg Senior High School, and went on to earn a BA Degree from Penn State University in 1992 in Political Science, with a minor in Labor Law. In 1997, Mark earned a Masters Degree in Public Administration (M.P.A.) from Shippensburg University in 1997. Mark graduated from Widener University School of Law in May of 2009. He passed the Pennsylvania Bar Exam on his first attempt in July 2009. Mark plans to practice law soon.
Mark has also been active in our local community. He began his civic participation by volunteering time to serve on the Board of Directors of the Shippensburg Parks and Recreation Commission in 1996. He was also appointed to the Board of Directors of D.O.I.T. (Downtown Organizations Investing Together), Shippensburg’s downtown merchant association, serving as President of the Board in 1997. Upon graduation from Shippensburg, Mark ran and won a seat on the Shippensburg Borough Council in 1997 and was elected by the Council as President of Council in 1998. Mark served out his four year term before being elected to a seat on the Shippensburg School Board. At the end of his term, Mark decided not to seek re-election because of his admission to Widener University School of Law. Mark also was involved in AYSO soccer and tee Ball in past years.
Wendy graduated from Dartmouth High School in New Bedford, Massachusetts in 1988. She moved to Pennsylvania in 1990 and entered into retail store management in 1991 with Endicott Johnson. After leaving Endicott Johnson, Wendy enter the management program for Finish Line stores and helped open and manage the Finish Line store at the Chambersburg Mall. After a few years in management, Mark and Wendy decided to start a commercial cleaning business 1994, EmacuClean Services. Due to business growth, within 4 months of business start up, Wendy left retail management to enter EmacuClean on a full time basis. EmacuClean currently has Wendy full time, a full time independent contractor and two part time independent contractors. Wendy’s professional cleaning services business serves clients in the Chambersburg and Shippensburg areas.
Shippet was created because of our recognition of the difficulty of planning travel and last minute trips while figuring out what to do with your pets. They have two cocker spaniels, now 6 years old, from the same litter a (Casey and Bailey). They also have a 5 year old Pomeranian, Abbie. The latest addition, added in November 2006, is their adorable teacup chiwauwa, Mya.
