Thank you for a terrific summer

We thank our clients for a terrific summer season.  We have enjoyed the opportunity to care for your pets. 

Now that the summer is winding down, we start thinking about Holidays, specifically, Thanksgiving and Christmas.  What?  Already? 

With our business, we don’t have a choice, we have to.  If you are going to be in need of Holiday services, we suggest contacting us as soon as you may travel plans.  Holidays are extremely busy for ShipPet and at times we may have to turn down bookings because of the sheer volume of reservations.  So once you know your Holiday travel plans, let us know. 

FEE REMINDER AND HOLDING STEADY. . .  ShipPet will not only hold steady on rates, because of the economy, but also our Holiday fee.  Please remember, should you book a reservation over a Holiday, we charge a $10 holiday fee, held steady now for 4 years. 

EMAIL REMINDERS:  Some times we send out email reminders on blocked dates, promotions, and other stuff.  If you want to be added, simply email us your email address, it is that simple. 

BLOCKED DATES:  At this time, we do not have any scheduled.  We will post any dates we will not be accepting bookings here on our website. 

REFERRAL PROMOTION:  Is ongoing.  You refer a friend, tell your friend to let us know you referred them.  If your friend makes a booking over $50, you will get $10 off your next booking.  If your friend makings a booking over $100, we will take $15 off your next booking.  REMEMBER to have your friends tell us you referred them so we can credit you.

More snow … and cheers to Shippensburg Borough

The Shippensburg area was hammered again on Wednesday with more, more, and more snow.  It looks right now like the area was pelted with another foot of snow.

Shippensburg area roads did not close Wednesday, despite a steady stream of snow nearing 1 foot.

According to Dr. Tim Hawkins, assistant professor of geography and earth science at Shippensburg University, the area saw 10.7 inches of snow by 1 p.m. Wednesday. Snow started falling at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday and continued steadily.

ShipPet gives a big round of applause to the Shippensburg Borough workers and Penn DOT workers who did an absolutely phenomenal job keeping roads open and as clear as could be.  You really don’t know what you got until you experience something different.

Take for instance last Sunday, we had tickets to go see the Capitals/Penguins game.    The blizzard snowfall struck Friday and Saturday and we were not quite sure what to expect.  Driving down Interstate 81 on Sunday, it was bone dry, not even an ounce of slush.   Then we hit State Line, the Maryland border, right at Citibank.  Within 200 feet of entering Maryland we hit thick sheets of ice all over I-81 and traffic crawled to 20 MPH.    We immediately turned around and went home.  Peple can get mad, angry, or whatever at PennDOT, but that made me realize how much better our Department of Transportation and our local municipalities are than many, many areas, even Hagerstown, right down the road.   It literally was like crossing state line and entering a state of paralysis.

So think when you get frustrated with our snow removal and just remember you got it lucky.

Kudos to Shippensburg Borough workers for their tons of overtime and dedication to keep our roads as clear as possible.  They made it much easier for ShipPet to services our clients, and yes, once again, the storm did not get in our way!

Here is the parking notice for Saturday.

On Saturday, Feb. 13, from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., Shippensburg Borough workers will be removing snow on Queen, Washington, Prince and Penn streets. In order for this to be successful, the borough is asking that vehicles be removed from those streets during that time.

Christmas bookings

The Christmas holidays are quickly approaching and our pet sitting calendar is growing. Just a quick reminder — if you need our services over the Holidays, book us as soon as you know your plans to get your pet sitting care reserved.

Thus could be one if the first Holiday seasons where we are booked fully and can not take anymore customers. So book as soon as you know you will need us.

In addition to our regular rates, we charge a $10 holiday fee for Christmas Day and New Years Day.

Happu Thanksgiving

Going away for the holidays? Need pet sitting?

Many people go away for the Holiday.  Visit family.  Take family retreats.  Heck, some go on vacation to get away from the hectic nature of the holidays.

We here at ShipPet stand ready to provide pet sitting services for you and your pet(s).  Thanks giving holiday is not too bad for ShipPet.  However, let me throw a word of caution our for the Christmas holidays.

We get busy.  Really busy.

What we ask is that when you are planning your holidays, include us in your planning. The sooner you get booked and on our calendar, the sooner you can relax knowing pet care will not be an issue. We all experience the hectic nature of shopping, traveling, baking, wrapping gifts, preparing menus, preparing visits, and on and on and on. It is easy to forget about arranging pet care when you travel at the holidays.

Since we get super busy and may get to the point where the calendar is full and we can take no more reservations, use this  as a reminder to get yourself booked with us as soon as possible.

Refer them to us and if they book pet sitting from $30 to $65, get a $10.00 credit on your account for your next booking. They book over $65 reservation, we will credit your account $15.00. ShipPet joins Facebook

ShipPet has started its own Facebook page.  You on Facebook>  Join our page HERE.

We will use the Facebook page similar to what we do here, minus the community stuff.  If you are a big Facebook user, then the page may work out better than our website.  We will announce promotional specials, blacked out dates, and other pet sitting related information on our Facebook page.

What kind of title is that?  Let me explain.

Have a lost pet? . . . Feel free to contact us by email, simply by using the form at the top right or by emailing us direct at shippet@gmail.com if you have a LOST pet and are trying to locate it in the Shippensburg area.  We would be happy to post a notice on our blog and spread word by email.

Have strays? . . .  Second, have stray kittens or puppies?  Unfortunately, there seems to be a ton of that in the Shippensburg area.  If you happen to have some and need to find them a good home, again, feel free to email us and we can post a notice here at shippet.net and use email notification to see if any of our clients are interested.

A hectic summer it was …

Just a bit of commentary . . . The Summer of 2009 is rolling to a close as kids around Shippensburg prepare to head back to school in less than one week.  What a summer it was.  For me personally, it was hectic, tiring, and stressful.  I have successfully completed law school and took the PA Bar Exam in July 2009.

Now the down time, I guess.

As for ShipPet, it was also a hectic summer and we thank you, our many clients, for our biggest summer ever.  We can say, Shippensburg residents have done their fair share in trying to generate economic growth through travel, we are proof.  So thanks Shippensburg!

A little about exactly what we do, and what we don’t do . . . We seem to get many questions concerning what kinds of services we provide, particularly new clients.  Let me first refer you to oru SERVICES page.  It is a good, quick summary of what we provide.  Remember, we are pretty felxiible for our clients.  However, what we don’t do.  We DO NOT keep pets at our house.  We are NOT a kennell.  We make visits to your house, how many number your pet needs, customized to fit your schedule.  That’s what we do.

Springs is here, Summer is on the Way

Finally, the winter weather seems to have broken. With that usually comes vacation planning, planning your summer travels to the beach, abroad, or just a long weekend getaway. Don’t forget to include ShipPet Pet Sitting Service sin your vacation and travel planning.

Summer months (June through September) are the busiest months for ShipPet. Some weeks get so busy that we have to actually limit booking capacity in those weeks. To avoid that, we recommend that you include us in your travel planning. When you make your reservations for your hotels, planes, and other travel planning tools, include ShipPet as one of those things you have to book. Get on our calendar early so you are guaranteed your pet care.

Please make sure, if you have outside pets, that they have plenty of water and an area for them to seek shade. There are far too many accident that cause death or serious injury to pets due to heat.

Well, it’s cold! But summer is coming!

And that means Spring and Summer vacations are on the way. As you begin making your travel arrangements for the summer, all we ask is, make us part of those arrangements. Book us, when you book your travel, just make us part of the planning. Why?

The summer months are pretty hectic for us. We have grown so well over the past few years that we get booked up near the max in certain weeks in the summer. By including us in your travel planning in advance, we can get you booked and on the calendar. Your spot will be reserved and guaranteed!
